Father on Guard

The Florida Sandhill Cranes, a subspecies the North American Sandhill Crane, are year round residents. The North American Sandhill Cranes will migrate here for the winter. 

Sandhill Cranes mate for life. What is particularly interesting is that if a male should die another male will not only take his place but also adopt the offspring.
